I’ve come across another trendy lad at THE ICONIC who is quite the stylish gentleman. Meet Jeffrey:
Job Title: Business Analytics Manager
Job Description: My job changes daily! I look after the company’s sales reporting, oversee price matching (so we give our ICONIC shoppers the best bang for their buck), work with our buyers to improve their processes, create presentations and ad hoc analysis for the MDs, trouble shooting and fire fighting. Mixing it up keeps it interesting!
When did you start working for THE ICONIC? In November 2011, a month after launch. It still amazes me how much we have grown and the changes I’ve seen in just 8 months.
What time did you start today? 9:30
What were your first thoughts when you stepped into our foyer on your first day? Shock and Awe. Being thrown into a massive converted warehouse/loft in Surry Hills with rows and rows of people typing away on computers. The energy is palpable. Very exciting times!
Let’s recap what have you done in the last…8 hours? Just moved into a new place so still floundering around trying to pack & unpack in the morning. Looked into what our customers are buying and how many items and how much they are spending per order, and taking my boss and some buyers into my findings. Prepped for our weekly sales meeting with the whole buying team – we can barely fit everyone in the meeting room! We discussed the highs and lows of the week and how we can do even better. Tried to bribe the IT Dept to get them to work their magic and pull special favours for us. Coffee with a friend in one of the many cafes around Surry Hills. [Our HQ is smack bang in the middle of it.] Worked on some presentations for our buyers currently scoping for the next big “up and coming” brands in one of the biggest fashion trade shows in Europe. Excited to see what good stuff they bring back for next season!
Whats your story pre THE ICONIC? I did Com/Law at uni and started out as a strategy management consultant, so it was refreshing to come from a corporate environment to a fresh online startup (no more suits!). Some of the random things I have done in the past included Fitness First gym sales, bookshop assistant, banker to legal research assistant…
What are the perks of working for a Fashion e-Retailer? Work with very passionate people! The coolest (and most stylish) bunch. That and the staff discounts hehe.
When was the last time you made a purchase from our website and what was it? I bought two things last week: A bomber jacket by Nique [this] and a pair of Florsheim shoes [these]. They were so beautiful and even more awesome that they are on sale.
Top 3 winter essentials? Scarf – preferably pashmina/cashmere. Invest in one, you’ll feel the difference. Classic Overcoat/Trench & Boots
What is your favourite winter trend at the moment? To be honest I don’t really follow trends per se. As they say: “Fads fade, style is timeless”
Who is your fashion icon/who do you draw inspiration from? Tom Ford. That guy can do no wrong.
SHOES or BAGS? Shoes. My collection has ballooned since working here.
Can’t live without… My iPhone. I actually get told off about how attached I am to it! Speaking of which, it’s starting to grow out of my wrist…
What’s in your bag?
