A day in the life of… Beth the Buyer!

Beth = front and centre.

It’s time to snapshot what it’s like to spend a day in the life of a buyer, from what I’ve gathered it’s a combination of jet-setting, Fashion Weeks + parties and then the daily grind around the office..

Name: Bethany Cecins
Job Title: Assistant Buyer – Women’s Footwear
Job Description: Assisting Buyer with buys, managing OTB, trend forecasting, liaising with marketing and administrative duties.

When did you start working for THE ICONIC? Last October! Crazy to see how much we have grown in 8 months.

What time did you start today? 8:30am

What were your first thoughts when you stepped into our foyer on your first day? Oh god I am hungry. Not an unusual thought for those who know me working here

What was in your lunchbox today? Pumpkin Soup and Toast! Very weather appropriate

Let’s recap what have you done in the last…8 hours? Looked through Summer buys, teased my admin and prepared for weekly meetings.

1 hour? Had one too many coffees and looked at trends coming through for summer with Jen and Marketing.

What’s your story pre THE ICONIC? Originally from WA with a Commerce Degree from Curtain but have been in Sydney almost two years. Previous to THE ICONIC, I worked at Ksubi and bought for smaller boutiques.

What are the perks of working in fashion? Being ahead of the trends!

When was the last time you made a purchase from our website and what was it? Last week! Staple Superior Striped Chunky Crew. Never under estimate how great men’s jumpers are for girls.

What’s on your wishlist? Antipodium Nancy Boy Dress, Dolce Vita Mini Brogues and Hudson Lou Lou Neon Tuxedo Skinny.

What are your 3 winter essentials? Jeans, boots and knit jumpers. Can’t have enough of any of them!

What is your favourite winter trend at the moment? Man style. Boyfriend Jeans, trousers, over-sized jumpers with patent brogues. Cute with an edge.

Whats your prediction for next season’s big trend/s? For shoes is all about single soles, pastels and mirrored heels. Throw in some ankle/festival booties that are trans-seasonal and you are set.
